What’s Your Thinking Style?

Have you ever wondered why you get along better with some people more than others?  If you answered “Yes,” you’re not alone.  Perhaps thinking style affects relationships as much as experience, communication, and chemistry.

Why not take this free quiz.  Find out your thinking style in a minute or less!

According to Dr. Anthony Gregorc, professor of curriculum and instruction at the University of Connecticut, we not only have preferred learning and working styles, we also have favorite thinking styles (they’re different but all good).

Dr. Gregorc’s four thinking styles are:

  • Concrete Sequential reality based thinkers who process information in linear, sequential manner
  • Concrete Random —  experimenters
  • Abstract Sequential thinkers enamored with the world of theory and abstract thought (are you an Einstein?)
  • Abstract Random — thinkers who organize information through reflection, and thrive in unstructured, people-oriented environments

The article concludes, “The important thing is that you become more aware of yours and others’ thinking style.  Such understanding will help us become more flexible; appreciate and learn from each others strengths.”

What’s your thinking style?
