Twelve Ways To Survive and Thrive (Overview)

Would you like to succeed in life?  Who wouldn’t! Although, the definition of “success” may differ from one person to the next.

For some, success may mean more status and power; for others, a peace of mind; for others, time with family and friends; so forth and so on.

The definition of “success” may be as varied as the number of people on our planet; however, according to Dr. Medina, developmental molecular biologist and research consultant at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine, understanding our brain and how it works plays an important role in improving our quality of life.

In Brain Rules, Dr. Medina explains 12 principles for surviving and thriving at work, home, and school:

  1. Exercise boosts brain power
  2. Evolution of the human brain
  3. Every brain is wired differently
  4. We don’t pay attention to boring things
  5. Repeat to remember
  6. Remember to repeat
  7. Sleep well, think well
  8. Stressed brains don’t learn the same way
  9. Stimulate more of the senses
  10. Vision trumps all other senses
  11. Male and female brains are different
  12. We are wired to explore

For the next twelve days, we’ll look into each of the above concepts.

Welcome to our journey!  🙂
