Brain Rules (IV) — We CANNOT Multifocus

Better attention always equals better learning.  These four techniques are widely practiced among communication experts and educators (John Medina):

  • Novelty — introduce the unusual and the unpredictable
  • Arouse learners’ emotions
  • Relate new information to learners’ past experiences and existing knowledge
  • Communicate main ideas then details

How about multitasking?  Who can afford not to?  We’re so busy.  There’s only 24 hours in a day!

We can multitask.  We CANNOT multifocus.  🙂
