Heroes

(First posted on Dec. 20)

Heroes defined their  heroes as “Those who overcome adversity, demonstrating attitudes of gratitude, those who work for a cause much higher and bigger than themselves, and individuals who walk the talk.”

Words cannot even begin to express my gratitude for my perfect hero.  I am in awe of His amazing love!

Leaders and Bullies — What’s the Difference?

Control is fear. Control isolates.  Love respects.  Relationships thrive.

Bullies are lonely. They are scared.  Force; their only friend.

Bullies are cowards.  Lacking the intelligence and the courage, to face insecurities head on.

True leaders, never coerce.  They’re firm. They care; acting with people’s best interests in mind.

True leaders inspire. They empower. True leaders give individuals the tools and skills to face life’s challenges!

Fear is evil. Fear is ignorance. Fear keeps people small.

Love is good. Love is wise. Love mobilizes people to strive and work — toward causes much larger and greater than themselves.

Leaders act on love. Bullies, on fear.  Leaders are wise. Bullies, not wise.  Leaders are you-centered. Bullies, me-centered.

Which do you prefer?  Which would you choose?  Which do you aspire to?

Believe! Achieve!

Nick loves life!  He loves traveling around the world, golfing, fishing, and swimming!

Nick was born without arms and legs. As a child, he had contemplated suicide.  He was bitter and hopeless.  But today, he couldn’t be happier.

Nick shares his love, hope, and message with you:

“Along the line, you might fall down like this. So what do you do when you fall down? There are times when you think you can’t get back up. Do you have hope? I’m down here and face down. I have no arms or no legs. It should be hard to get back up, but it’s not. If I fail 100 times, I keep trying again and again. It’s not the end. It matters how you’re going to finish. Are you going to finish strong? You will find that strength to get back up … like this.” (4:30)

Thank You Veterans! (I)

We are free because of the brave.

The following message goes out to all veterans and their families who serve our country to protect democracy, freedom, and its citizens.  Veterans and their families (are):

Vital to our nation — our freedom, our values, our way of life.

Endure unimaginable hardships.

Tenacious.  Veterans put their lives on the line.  Their actions uphold our nation’s beliefs, values, and principles.

Encourage.  Veterans touch hearts.  Veterans restore war-torn nations.

Revive.  Veterans rescue the wounded.

Aspiration for all.  Their courage and patriotism is our model and motto.

No nonsense.  The job gets done.

Strong yet sensitive.

My 69-year-old mother fondly remembers the soldier who gave her a piece of candy — relief and hope — in the midst of war-torn Tokyo (November, 1945).

Special thanks also extends to Michael Yon, former Special Operations officer turned citizen journalist.  Yon continues to report first-hand detailed accounts of the Iraq War.

THANK YOU VETERANS!
